Teen Arrested In First-Degree Murder Case

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) _ A 14-year-old St. Petersburg teen was arrested in Tallahassee by U.S. Marshals and is being charged as an adult with first-degree murder.

Franco Thomas was arrested Tuesday. Authorities have been searching for him since July.

Police say Thomas beat a 21-year-old man to death with a shotgun during a home invasion robbery in St. Petersburg in July.

Officials received information that Thomas was living in Tallahassee with a relative.

Thomas will be extradited to Pinellas County.

It’s unclear whether he has retained an attorney.
