DELTONA, Fla. (AP) _ Volusia County authorities say a 17-year-old boy accidentally struck and killed an elderly woman outside a Laundromat.
The crash is still under investigation, but deputies say criminal charges are not likely for the unidentified teen.
The Orlando Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/NBK0QX ) the boy was with his family at a Deltona Laundromat on Saturday when his mother told him to move the family van.
Deputies say the teen’s foot slipped off the brake and hit the gas, striking the 84-year-old woman.
She was dragged a short distance, then struck a second time.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The teen was cited for driving without a license and his mother was cited for knowingly allowing an unlicensed driver to get behind the wheel.
