At 7:07 p.m., Geoffrey B. Dawson, 25, was on a 2006 Honda CBR 1000 motorcycle heading west on Bearss Avenue, when he tried to pass between two cars near the intersection of Lake Emerald Boulevard, deputies said.
Dawson was struck by one of the cars – a Ford Focus driven by 26-year-old Catherine Nicholas, of Brandon – and was ejected 50 feet from the motorcycle, deputies said.
He was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital where he died at 9:42 p.m.
