Suspect Sought In Carrollwood Bank Robbery

TAMPA – Hillsborough County sheriff’s detectives need the public’s assistance in identifying a man seen in surveillance images robbing a Carrollwood bank last week.

Just after 4 p.m. Friday, the man parked a gold Dodge Caravan van in the parking lot of a Target store at 15240 N. Dale Mabry Highway, deputies said.

The man walked across Carrollwood Springs Boulevard to a BB&T bank branch, 15312 N. Dale Mabry Highway. In the bank, he stood in line for a few moments, then handed a note to a teller demanding money, deputies said.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber exited the bank and went back to his van, which headed south through the Target lot, then south on Dale Mabry Highway, deputies said.

The suspect was described as 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall and 150 pounds with a medium build. He had short black hair and hazel eyes, and was wearing a white T-shirt with blue writing on the front, a tan baseball cap, blue pants, dark shoes, a white painter’s mask, black gloves and black sunglasses.
