St. Petersburg Man Charged in Murder-Suicide Attempt

 A St. Petersburg man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder for an attempted murder-suicide.

Officers were called to a home in the 660 block of 77th Avenue North in St. Pete after a report of “suspicious circumstances” around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to Police, Albert F. Crandall, 54, allegedly killed a female victim and attempted to take his own life, but survived.

Officers found the female victim dead at the scene and detectives believe the woman was suffocated.

Police said that Crandall left a murder-suicide not but are not releasing the possible motive.

Crandall was taken to Bayfront Medical Center, treated and medically cleared.

The victim has not been identified, pending notification of family.
