MIAMI (AP) — A South Florida woman told animal control officials she has been hoarding more than 100 cats at her home.
The woman showed up at Miami-Dade’s Animal Services Department on Wednesday to surrender 20 cats. But as investigators questioned her, the woman admitted she had more and led officials to her two-bedroom town house. Officials said she had 114 cats in varying degrees of health. Some had to be euthanized.
Dozens are up for adoption.
The Miami Herald reported the woman will not face animal cruelty charges because she surrendered the animals voluntarily.
