A deputy was injured when a burglary suspect struck him with his car in Pompano Beach Thursday morning, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.
The incident began when dispatchers received a call of a burglary in the 2200 block of Bay Drive, the BSO said.
The deputy was struck by the suspect when he tried to flee the scene and shots were fired, BSO spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright said. No one was injured as a result of the gunfire, Coleman-Wright said.
The suspect began driving north and deputies in Deerfield Beach started blocking traffic, Coleman-Wright said.
