Tampa Police say the man they found dead inside his apartment on 113th Avenue East was 55-year-old Donald Gene Hardy.
Officials say Hardy was shot with upper body trauma.
TPD was called to the University Oakwoods Apartments after getting a call from maintenance workers who say they saw a man leaving an apartment with bloody clothing.
When police arrived they found Hardy dead inside.
Maintenance workers then lead them to the apartment where the suspect, Aaron Miley, 36, was staying.
Miley is now charged with second-degree murder and the motive for the killing is not known.
