Paddleborder Missing

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) _ Several agencies in the Tampa Bay area are continuing to search for a missing paddleboarder.

Authorities say a board belonging to 50-year-old Jeffrey Comer was found by a boater late Saturday near Holmes Beach. A search continued early Monday.

The U.S. Coast Guard says board contained Comer’s wallet, car keys and cell phone.

Tampa police checked Comer’s apartment, but he wasn’t there.

They say a friend last saw Comer loading his paddleboard into his vehicle on Saturday afternoon.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office found Comer’s vehicle near Fort De Soto Park.

Police say Comer is a competition paddleboarder with no known medical issues.
