No Major Storms but Cooler Weather

After dodging heavy rains and storms yesterday, a cold front will bring only a few showers today.  That front will move through this morning bringing cooler and drier air.  We will start warm and humid with our high temperatures occurring before 9am near 80.  Then the wind shift WNW behind the front, the temps slowly drop this afternoon and the humidity levels trend southward.  It will be a little breezy today, especially this afternoon as the cooler air builds in.  Look for slightly higher than normal tides along the Gulf coast this afternoon.

The cool air will pick up some moisture from the Gulf resulting in some low level clouds.  Those clouds will be thickest at the coast and will even provide us with a small chance for a sprinkle tonight and Thursday.  Most areas will stay dry and cool.

Today: A few showers this morning with a warm and humid start.  Cold front brings partly cloudy skies and falling temperatures this afternoon.  Humidity will dry out and it will be breezy with winds WNW 15-20 mph.  High temps will occur this morning and will be near 80.

Tonight: Partly cloudy skies inland with slightly more clouds along the coast coming off of the Gulf.  An isolated coastal shower can’t be ruled out.  It will be much cooler with lows in the upper 50s.

Thursday:  Partly cloudy skies, isolated coastal sprinkle and cool.  Winds WNW 10-15 mph with a high of 73.

Thursday night: Mainly clear and cool.  Lows will dip to the low to mid 50s with upper 40s north.
