Motorcyclist injured by hit-and-run driver

Police have identified a motorcyclist critically injured by a hit-and-run driver Friday as 52-year-old Patrick James Ralston of Kenneth City.

He remained hospitalized Wednesday in serious condition.

Ralston suffered life-threatening injuries late Friday when he was hit by a car driven by 35-year-old Sandra Lundin of St. Petersburg, according to police.

Lundin was westbound on 38th Avenue N just after 9 p.m. when she turned left on 46th Street and into the path of a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle, eastbound on 38th Avenue N, police said.

Police said the front end of the motorcycle struck the front passenger door of Lundin’s 1998 Ford Taurus.

After the crash, Lundin drove about a half block before running away; she was arrested at her home several hours after the crash.

Lundin faces a charge of leaving the scene of a crash. She was released from the Pinellas County Jail on Saturday morning on $5,000 bail.
