MIAMI (AP) _ The older sister of missing Florida foster child Rilya Wilson is in the courtroom as testimony resumes in the murder trial of the girl’s caretaker.
Eighteen-year-old Brandy Sims said Monday she didn’t know Rilya.
They lived in separate foster homes before Rilya was discovered missing in April 2002.
Previous testimony showed that state child welfare officials didn’t realize Rilya was gone for over a year.
Sims says she wants to hear testimony and learn more about Rilya’s fate.
U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson, a Miami Democrat who was deeply involved in the case, accompanied her.
On trial is 66-year-old Geralyn Graham, who was Rilya’s caretaker.
Graham faces life in prison if convicted of murder in the girl’s disappearance.
She has pleaded not guilty and Rilya’s body has never been found.
