A 37-year-old man was fatally shot late Sunday in what police believe was an attempted home invasion.
Antonio N. Bligen was shot in the upper torso outside his residence at 4519 12th Ave. S about 10:47 p.m., according to police. He was taken to Bayfront Medical Center, where he died a few hours later.
Before Bligen lost consciousness, he told police that two armed, hooded people tried to force him inside his residence.
Police have not identified any suspects.
The investigation is ongoing.
