Man Charged with Arson of His Mother’s Restaurant

A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged in the arson of his mother’s Tampa restaurant.

Firefighters responded to the Thai Market and Kitchen at 2235 S. Dale Mabry Highway early Wednesday after patrolling police officers spotted flames coming from the building.

A short time later, officers arrested James Nettles, a 34-year-old man who was spotted leaving the building with a backpack. He was found with cash from the restaurant and a DVR from the security system.

Officials said Nettles has been charged with arson, burglary and resisting an officer without violence.

Nettles’ mother, Judy Rolison, owns the business.

The building was destroyed. No injuries were reported. Officials have not said whether they have information on what prompted the incident.

Nettles was booked in the Hillsborough County Jail.
