Homicide in Hillsborough

Deputies responded to a shooting at approximately 11:24 p.m. and discovered the a man dead in the front yard of a home at 3817 Endive Avenue in Tampa.

The victim and a male friend were over visiting the male homeowner at the Endive address when they were confronted by two armed suspects.

The victim, Michael Gilber, 32,was ordered to the ground by one of the armed suspects while the homeowner and the victim’s friend were ordered inside the residence by the second armed suspect.

A struggle ensued between the second suspect and the homeowner and friend and they ran away with Gilber still behind and while fleeing they heard gunshots.

The suspects then fled the scene and the when the homeowner and friend returned they discovered Gilber on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds.

Detectives believe that the robbery/homicide is drug related and have identified one, who is known to the homeowner and friend of victim and they are obtaining a warrant for his arrest.

The other suspect is described as a Black or Hispanic male, 5’ll – 6′, thin build, approximately 160 lbs. wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Possible vehicle description:  Mid ot late 1990’s 4 door Mazda Protege, green or dark green with tinted windows, with either black rims or no hubcaps.
