Holy Land Experience Offers Free Admission

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — It’s free-admission day at the Holy Land Experience theme park in south Orlando.

The park is open Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Officials say free admission will be limited on a first-come, first-serve basis. The park’s capacity is 2,000. Company officials say that once the park hits its capacity, visitors will only be allowed in as others leave.

The Orlando Sentinel reports the religious-themed park must offer free admission to the public one day a year to qualify for a property tax exemption from the state of Florida.

The newspaper reports the exemption saves the park about $300,000 per year.

Admission to the park is usually $35 for adults and $20 for children ages 6 to 12.
