Front Drifts May Lead To Rain In Tampa

Summer heat will remain with the Tampa Bay area into next week, but with slightly higher rain chances as a weak front drifts south.

After a muggy start, skies will be mostly sunny today, with a small chance for an afternoon storm, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.

The front, which is associated with this week’s severe weather in the mid-Atlantic, will weaken before it reaches the Tampa area.

It’s expected to bring more clouds and slightly higher rain chances tonight into Saturday morning.

Once the front passes, the region will see an increased chance of typical afternoon storms.

Highs into next week will reach the low-90s, with lows in the mid- to upper-70s.
