The Florida Board of Governors, meeting in Sarasota, approved $20 million in performing funding that will be split among 11 universities.
Universities were ranked in three different categories, including the percent of their graduates who were employed or continuing their education one year after graduation. The universities were also ranked based on the average wages earned by graduates.
The categories were pushed by Gov. Rick Scott and approved by the Florida Legislature. There was some debate Thursday that the rankings weren’t perfect since it’s hard to obtain information on graduates who leave the state.
University of Central Florida and University of South Florida each received the most at $2.6 million.
