Detectives Investigate Apparent Palm Harbor Murder/Suicide

Detectives are investigating an apparent Murder-Suicide in a Palm Harbor residence.

Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office say Donalyn Clark Walsh was shot by her husband Douglas Walsh at their home on Forest View Drive.

Deputies responded to the residence at about 11:50 a.m. yesterday morning.

According to detectives, 53-year-old Donalyn Clark Walsh and her husband 53-year-old Stephen Douglas Walsh were found deceased in their Palm Harbor home by their adult children.

Detectives say the adult children were concerned about the well being of their parents, as they had not heard from them since Sunday.

They went to their home on the morning of April 24th, knocked on the door and there was no answer, they forced their way into the home and found both their parents deceased.

According to investigators, Stephen Walsh shot Donalyn Walsh then turned the gun, a 40 caliber semi automatic, on himself.

It was also said that on April 22nd, 2012 deputies had responded to the Walsh home on a family trouble call, as Mr. and Ms. Walsh were having a verbal argument.

While deputies were on scene, Ms. Walsh left the residence but returned home later that evening. Police say the murder-suicide occurred the evening of April 22.

The investigation continues.

Neighbors said the couple was supposed to move to San Diego this week, and that the last time they had seen them was on Sunday.

Investigators confirmed that the couple was planning to move out.  There is no word as to whether that had anything to do with their deaths.
