WINTER GARDEN, Fla. (AP) — Central Florida authorities say a 5-year-old boy playing with his grandfather’s gun accidentally shot himself in the arm.
Winter Garden police say the boy was at The UPS Store owned by grandfather Monday when he grabbed the 9mm pistol off a counter and pulled the trigger. The boy’s father rushed him to the hospital. The wound to his left arm wasn’t considered life-threatening.
The Orlando Sentinel (http://thesent.nl/xYuWpx ) reports that customers were in the store when the shooting occurred, but no other injuries were reported.
No charges were immediately filed.
