Boy Dies in Bus Crash

FORT PIERCE, Fla. (AP) _ Authorities say a boy was found dead inside a St. Lucie County school bus following a crash with a semi-truck.

Officials say 14 other students and the bus driver were injured in the Monday afternoon collision near F.K. Sweet Elementary School.

Three of the injured students were airlifted to a nearby trauma center.

The others were transported by ambulance.

Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers (http://bit.ly/GTf1xB) reports that the bus was carrying about 30 students when in collided with the semi-truck.

Florida Highway Patrol reports that the bus was making a left turn when it was hit by the oncoming semi-truck.

The impact of the crash spun the yellow bus around and overturned the semi.

Uninjured students were taken to the county’s emergency operations center to be picked up by their parents.
