Authorities Release Identity of Headless Body

VERO BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Authorities have identified the victim whose headless body was found in a vacant home in Vero Beach.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office identified the decomposed, headless body as the remains of 21-year-old Douglas Frasier. The Stuart News reported Saturday that the medical examiner’s office has not been able to determine a cause of his death, although the case is being investigated as a homicide.

Sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Jeff Luther says Frasier had an extensive criminal history in Indian River and Brevard counties, including armed burglary.

The body was found Wednesday inside a vacant home. Sheriff’s officials say the head was separated possibly because of natural decomposition.
