Aircraft with Romney Advertisement Makes Emergency Landing

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) _ High winds forced a blimp-like aircraft carrying a Mitt Romney advertisement to make an emergency landing in South Florida.

Davie police say the two people aboard the aircraft got out safely when it landed in a neighborhood around 7:10 p.m. Sunday.

The South Florida SunSentinel (http://sunsent.nl/Sds0g7 ) reports the blimp was traveling to North Perry Airport in nearby Pembroke Pines.

It was flying from Boca Raton, where Monday night’s presidential debate will be held at Lynn University.

Police Capt. Dale Engle says the deflated aircraft carried an advertisement that read, “America needs Romney.”

No one on the ground was injured.
