4 Bus Drivers Suspended For Invalid Licenses

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Four north Florida bus drivers have been suspended after the Jacksonville Transportation Authority found out their driver’s licenses were not valid.

The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/zkGb4Y ) reports the agency has been doing driver’s license checks of their employees this week after the newspaper investigated the criminal and driving records of the bus drivers.

Agency spokesman John Finotti says four drivers were found to have suspended licenses. He says the agency does not have a policy for how to deal with the issue but officials are working to come up with a plan.

The drivers won’t be allowed to drive again until their licenses are valid.

The newspaper reports it’s unclear whether they’ll be paid while they’re suspended.

The Times-Union reports they agency fired three officials this week.
