150 Laws Take Effect Monday In Florida

More than 150 new laws take effect Monday in Florida.

The new statutes ban the sale of pipes that can be used for marijuana smoking, restrict the use of drones and a law banning slow driving, the Associated Press said. It also includes authorization for the state’s $74.1 billion budget.

• The law against water pipes makes it illegal to “knowingly and willfully” sell bongs so they can be used to consume illegal drugs.

• The anti-drone law will limit the ability of local law enforcement agencies to use drones only in the case of imminent danger to life or serious property damage, the AP said. It also forces law enforcement to obtain a search warrant before using a drone to collect evidence.

• Another law gives police the power to ticket drivers in the left lane of a highway who drive more than 10 miles an hour under the posted limit.
