$10,000 Reward Offered in Clearwater Cold Case

CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) _ The family of a Clearwater man who was killed in 2008 is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case.

The Tampa Bay Times (http://bit.ly/Rkbbzp ) reports the family decided to offer the reward after recently seeing renewed interest in another cold case in Clearwater.

They hope the money will encourage someone to come forward with new information.

This is what they know. Early in the morning of July 6, 2008, the elderly mother of 41-year-old Vasilio “Billy” Vorvis found his body.

He had been stabbed to death in a fight that appeared to start inside a home on Grove Street before moving outside. Authorities say he may have known his killer.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-873-8477.
