Florida Man Dies From “Flesh-Eating” Bacteria

One person in Sarasota County has died from a “flesh-eating” bacteria, according to officials there. The bacteria is called vibrio vulnificus and is a potentially deadly bacteria to those who suffer chronic health issues. Those who survive the bacteria experience symptoms similar to food poisoning.

According to a spokesperson with the Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County, the patient was middle-aged and had chronic health problems.

Fox 13 says there is only one case in Sarasota County so far.
