Florida Education Commissioner: ‘Opt Out’ and Fail

FLORIDA – Education Week has Florida ranked seventh in the country for education but that hasn’t stopped parents from forming a grassroots movement to ‘Opt Out’ of Florida’s assessment testing.

Florida Education Commissioner Pam Stewart states that students do not have the right to opt out of assessment testing. The state can withhold funds and competitive grants and take other punitive action if a school district fails to comply.
