Florida Cracks Down on Hit and Run Drivers with Mandatory Prison Sentence

TALLAHASSEE – Florida Highway Patrol has released harsher penalties on hit and run perpetrators giving a mandatory 4 year sentence.

Hit and run crimes have been trending up in Florida since 2012 by 7% a year. 235,666 cases have been reported and only 50% of those involved have been caught.
