CEREMONY SET TO UNVEIL FLORIDA HISTORIC MARKER FOR DOGERTOWN
A Florida historic maker is set to be unveiled at the site of the famed former spring training home of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Several Dodgers legends are scheduled to be on hand Monday when the marker celebrating Dodgertown is revealed in Vero Beach. Dodgertown served as the Dodgers spring training home from 1948 to 2008.

Sentencing is set for the convicted ringleader of a smuggling organization that brought into the U.S, more than 1,000 Cubans, including several baseball players. Eliezer Lazo could get up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced Monday in Miami federal court.

In 1998, Adam Roberts named his mother as his pension plan’s beneficiary. Five years later, he married Cindy Roberts, but he never amended the document. He was shot and killed on duty in 2009. According to a lawsuit, Cindy Roberts said her mother-in-law has received about $284,000 in insurance money. She says her mother-in-law has only given about $450 of that money in the form of birthday and Christmas gifts to her son Adam, who was 3 when his father was killed. Cindy Roberts is asking a judge to name her as beneficiary of her late husband’s deferred compensation benefits plan.
FOUR CHARGED IN SCHEME TO STEAL CREDIT CARD INFORMATION FROM GUESTS AT FLORIDA KEYS RESORT
More than $4,100 in fraudulent charges were made to the cards of guests who stayed at the Post Card Inn Beach Resort and Marina at Holiday Isle. Monroe County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin says the workers used their employee passwords to access the guests’ credit card information in the computer system at the Islamorada resort.
FEDERAL HEALTH OFFICIALS GIVE FLORIA $1.2 MILLION TO EXPAND MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES
This week federal health officials announced $1,249,850 in Affordable Care Act funding to help five health centers in Florida establish or expand behavioral health services for 18,854 Floridians. In addition to Florida’s grant, officials awarded more than $51 million in Affordable Care Act funds to support 210 health centers nationwide that establish or expand behavioral health services for nearly 440,000 people.
