3 DIED IN HELICOPTER CRASH NEAR DOWNTOWN ORLANDO

Three people who died when a helicopter crashed into an unoccupied guest home near downtown Orlando have been identified as a central Florida businessman, his wife and their friend. Orlando police officials on Monday identified the deceased as pilot Bruce Teitelbaum; his wife, Marsha Khan; and their friend, Harry Anderson. Teitelbaum was executive director of a Volusia County-based paper shredding and recycling company. The helicopter crashed Sunday afternoon in a neighborhood of large, historic homes.

MOTHER CHARGED WITH STABBING 3 CHILDREN IN FLORIDA

The third of three children who police say were stabbed by their mother in Florida has died. Palm Bay police said in a statement Monday that 5-month-old Christopher Swist was pronounced dead Sunday night. Jessica Lacey McCarty chose to remain in custody under a special medical watch when she appeared in court Sunday to face charges of two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. Authorities say the 33-year-old called 911 Friday night and said she had killed her children.

ZIMMERMAN: A PERSON IN HIS CIRCUMSTANCES CAN’T FEEL GUILTY

George Zimmerman says in a new video that a person in his circumstances can’t feel guilty over surviving a confrontation like the one he had with Trayvon Martin, the unarmed 17-year-old he fatally shot three years ago in Florida. Zimmerman said in the video that he would feel guilty only if he thought he could have done something differently that would have saved both their lives. Zimmerman was acquitted of criminal charges.

SHERIFF: LARGE METH RING BUSTED IN PASCO

Pasco County Sheriffs’ detectives and federal agents have arrested three men in connection with a large-scale methamphetamine network. During a news conference Monday, Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco said the suspects were part of a larger network involved in trafficking meth from Mexico, through Atlanta and down to Florida. Nocco says the men moved some 500 pounds of meth a year into Florida.

MAN AT MINI GOLF COURSE CHARGED WITH VIDEO VOYEURISM

A Tampa Bay area man was arrested on a video voyeurism charge at a putt-putt golf course. Pasco County deputies say 28-year-old Justin Barrett left his cell phone under a sink in the men’s bathroom at the Congo River miniature golf course in Port Richey. A man went in to use the urinal and noticed the phone’s video camera was recording. Deputies later found it was Barrett’s phone.
