Firefighter Injured in Dade City House Fire

Pasco County Fire Rescue received a call from a resident of a house located at 37640 Sky Ridge Circle in Dade City at 4:16 am Wednesday morning. The house is a 6,000 square foot house. Crews arrived on the scene 11 minutes later to find a large two story home with a in law-suite well involved with fire.

A total of four Pasco County Engines, two Pasco County Rescues, five Pasco County Tankers, two Pasco County Battalion Chiefs, one Pasco County Air/Light Truck, and one mutual aide Ladder company from Zephyrhills Fire Department responded to the fire.

Pasco Fire says that four adults and three children were in the home at the time and one of the adults suffered a minor injury and has not been transported.

Crews had problems extinguishing this fire due to lack of fire hydrants in the area. PCFR had to use five tankers to shuttle water to the fire.

One firefighter was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.

The fire is under control but crews will be on the scene for many hours for overhaul. The fire is currently under investigation by Pasco County Fire Rescue and further details will be released as needed.
