FHP Looking For Suspect In Hit and Run Crash

On April 1st at 7:30 AM, Florida Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a fatal hit and run crash on SR-50 approximately two miles east of US Hwy 301.

According to police, a 44-year-old male had been traveling westbound on the paved apron of SR-50 on a bicycle with reflectors, but no lights between 6:30 and 7:30 AM.

A late model vehicle departed the westbound lane and struck the bicyclist on the paved apron. Following the Collision, the vehicle continued traveling westbound on SR-50. FHP investigators recovered headlight and fog light lense covers and fragments at the scene of the crash. The bicyclist sustained fatal injuries and expired at the scene of the crash.
