FDOT To I 275 Construction Crews: Hurry Up

Traffic back ups are so bad on I-275 since the latest phase of road construction got underway, that the state transportation department is telling contractors to hurry up and get finished.

Work on the northbound stretch of 275 between Himes Avenue and Dale Mabry Highway has forced crews to narrow and shift lanes.

That’s forcing drivers to slow down so much, that traffic is backing up all the way over the Howard Frankland Bridge and into Pinellas County.

Contractors say they will be finished with that phase in about 6 weeks and ask drivers to be patient.

The entire 4 miles project along I-275 is set for a summer completion.
