WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (AP) — A man is dead following a central Florida mobile home fire.
Winter Haven police say 68-year-old Ellis Allison Jr. died late Wednesday.
The Ledger reports that neighbors Jerry Foulke and Bob O’Leary entered the burning home to retrieve Allison and pulled him out just as emergency personnel arrived. But their efforts weren’t enough to save Allison’s life.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and an autopsy will determine the cause of death. No foul play is suspected.
Allison had just moved to the Lucerne Lakeside Mobile Home community last month.
