There is good news for Tampa city employees in Mayor Bob Buckhorn’s proposed 2016 budget.
Buckhorn wants a 3.5 to 4 per cent pay raise for city workers.
Buckhorn also wants to keep property tax rates where they are now, although more money would actually be raised because property values in the city keep going up.
That would mean a higher tax bill for the third straight year for many.
Buckhorn’s budget also funds a slew of other programs, projects, and agencies.
But Buckhorn wants to put a million dollars of his 850 million dollar spending plan into reserves.
