An engine problem forced the pilot of a small plane to make an emergency landing Friday on U.S. 301 in Manatee County.
The plane was heading from St. Petersburg to the Sarasota-Bradenton airport when the pilot declared an emergency just short of the SRQ runway near Whitfield Avenue.
There were no injuries.
Federal investigators are on the scene.
Traffic on 301 is moving normally.
