Emergency Landing In Georgia By Allegiant Air Flight

An Allegiant Air flight headed to the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Airport make an emergency landing in Albany, Ga., Sunday night.

The plane’s pilots got an indicator light saying there was a possible fire in the cargo area, according to Allegiant spokesman Brian Davis.

Fire engines surrounded the plane when it landed, WTSP says, and passengers had to evacuate quickly, leaving their belongings behind as they rode down emergency chutes, WTSP adds.

All 155 passengers and six crew members got off the plane safely, the Tampa Bay Times quotes Davis as saying.
