Emergency Hearing In Lawyer DUI Set Up Case

(UPDATE 5:30 p.m.)     A judge says the video can be used at the bar trial and that the man who shot it can be called to testify.

A hearing is underway to determine if a secretly made video of a Tampa paralegal detailing a plot to get an attorney at a rival law firm arrested for DUI will be admitted in the accused attorneys misconduct trial.

Melissa Personius admits she got attorney Philip Campbell to stay at a bar and drink more, and then got him to drive her car.

A police officer tipped off that Campbell would be driving after drinking stopped and arrested Campbell.

All this happened during the infamous “Shock Jock” trial, where Campbell was opposing the three lawyers accused of setting him up—Stephen Diaco, Adam Filthaut, and Robert Adams.

A judge must decide if the video of Personius, which could hurt the three attorneys’ attempt to avoid punishment, was made with her knowledge and consent.

Their trial starts Monday. If convicted, the trio could be admonished, suspended, or disbarred.
