Egyptian Official Survives Car Bomb

Egypt_Interiorminister_2013CAIRO (AP) — Egypt’s unrest has taken a new turn today, when a senior government official was the target of a bomb attack. Interior Minister Mohammed Ibrahim, who is in charge of the country’s police, says a “large” explosive device likely detonated by remote control targeted his convoy. Appearing on state television, the minister appeared shaken but unhurt. At least eight people were injured, including two police officers and a child seriously.
