Update: One lane is getting by eastbound on Gulf To Bay.
Police are working a major accident on Gulf To Bay Boulevard at McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater.
Wednesday morning at about 3:00 a.m. police attempted to perform a routine traffic stop on a car near the Baby Dolls Strip Club. When the car didn’t stop, they proceeded to pursue the car. The suspect vehicle eventually hit a sign and rolled over. One officer is quoted saying the red vehicle was “all over the road” trying to get onto the Courtney Campbell Causeway.
There is no word on any injuries that may be related.
Due to the crash, the eastbound lanes of Gulf To Bay Boulevard will be shut down, while one westbound lane is also closed.
