Driver In Fatal Bridge Hit And Run Confesses

(UPDATE 3 p.m.)       Police say Allison Huffman has admitted being the driver in the deadly hit and run. A judge has set her bail at $750 thousand.

The woman who kept driving after hitting and killing a tow truck driver on the Howard Frankland Bridge Monday morning is in jail.

Police got a tip that 36 year old Allison Huffman was at a friend’s St. Petersburg apartment last night.

Police say Huffman admitted that she was the driver who struck 43 year old Rogelio Perez-Borroto as he helped a stranded motorist on the I-275 shoulder.

Her car with heavy front end damage was found abandoned in a Tampa hotel parking lot.

Huffman took a cab from there to the Hard Rock Casino.

Officials say she has multiple DUI arrests in the bay area.
