TAMPA, Fla. (AP) _ Police say they’ve found the driver of a car left crashed and abandoned on the Gandy Bridge.
They say 55-year-old Charles McFadden decided to walk home Saturday night after crashing his vehicle on one of the bridges that spans Tampa Bay.
The Tampa Bay Times (http://bit.ly/MSfYcm ) reports authorities responded to a crash in the eastbound lanes of the bridge about 8:15 p.m. Saturday.
They couldn’t find the driver. A witness told authorities the driver had jumped into the water.
Boats and dive teams searched the water but there were no signs of the driver.
He was located Sunday at his South Tampa condo.
He told police he decided to leave the wrecked vehicle and walk home.
McFadden suffered minor injuries.
