Police have arrested Paul Kent Clark of Tampa, 53, was traveling northbound on North 15th Street approaching East 26th Avenue at approximately 1:30 a.m. on May 12.
Clark did not see the pedestrian victim, Leroy Woods Jr., 40, of Tampa walking eastbound into the intersection and he struck the victim with his Dodge Ram truck. The victim suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at Tampa General Hospital.
DUI Officers arrived on scene to investigate the crash seeing that the driver appeared to be impaired. After a thorough investigation, officers determined that the suspect was driving under the influence.
He was arrested and booked into the Hillsborough County Jail.
