BRANDON — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double homicide that occurred in a Brandon town home, and detectives want to talk to a young man about the case.
The women, who are 23 and 24 years old, were found inside the home on Thursday afternoon. Deputies didn’t disclose the cause of death or identify the women.
The home had extensive fire and smoke damage, said Hillsborough County Sheriff’s David Gee, who spoke to the media Thursday night outside the Carlisle Club Townhomes, 1528 Highland Ridge Circle, Brandon.
The fire smoldered for a long time and appears to have been set to cover up the double homicide, Gee said.
“It’s a mess inside,” Gee said. “We are very fortunate that we didn’t have a blaze that burned an entire complex.”
