BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (AP) _ The Department of Children and Families is investigating the possible abuse of a 5-month-old boy who died.
Agency spokeswoman Paige Patterson told the Palm Beach Post that investigators also took a 2-year-old girl from the care of the parents after the infant was brought to a Palm Beach County hospital.
A Boynton Beach police report says the child was taken to Delray Medical Center on Aug. 14 after the parents noticed he was lethargic and his eyes were rolling toward the back of his head.
The child died Tuesday.
Officer Jaclyn Smith told the Post that the cause of death remains under investigation.
