Tourists Robbed at Gunpoint Near Fla. Hotel

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Police say four tourists were robbed at gunpoint outside a Daytona Beach hotel.

Police spokesman Jimmy Flynt tells the Orlando Sentinel (http://thesent.nl/smeVrm ) that two men held up four victims at gunpoint behind the Plaza Ocean Club hotel late Saturday, taking their cash and credit cards before fleeing toward the sea wall.

Flynt says that about a half-hour later, a man matching a description of one of the robbers walked into another hotel a few blocks away and grabbed the cash drawer from the counter.

According to police, the man dropped the drawer and ran away after hitting the hotel clerk in the face.
