Michelle Obama Comes to Florida

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) _ With her husband busy surveying damage left by Superstorm Sandy, first lady Michelle Obama is heading to Florida to speak to his supporters in Jacksonville, Daytona Beach and Miami.

Early voting is underway across the state and the first lady is slated to spend Thursday trying to firm up the President Barack Obama’s message about what he believes is at stake for Florida voters going into next week’s election.

President Obama cancelled his appearance in Orlando last week as Sandy prepared to make landfall and has since been using surrogates, including former president Bill Clinton, to keep a presence in a state that is expected to play a huge role in whether he wins a second term.

Officials said this week that 2 million Floridians have already voted early.
