FL Man Swipes Dogs, Heads Right For Craigslist

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A Florida man faces multiple charges after police say he stole two toy poodle puppies during a Craigslist transaction.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports police recovered one puppy Wednesday during an undercover operation.

Police say 25-year-old Lethario Haddocks offered to buy the puppies for $800 on Dec. 1. When they met, he handed her a wad of cash and took off with the dogs as she counted the money. It was only $150.

She contacted police when she saw the puppies advertised on Craigslist.

An undercover officer offered to buy the dog for $400. When they met, Haddocks rode off on a bicycle instead. Police followed him and he was arrested. They found one emaciated dog in his backpack.

It’s unclear whether he’s hired a lawyer.
