Florida is heading for a critical doctor shortage in the next decade according to a new study.
The Safety Net Hospital Alliance of Florida says a lack of residency spots is creating the shortage.
The study says that by 2025, there will be 7 thousand fewer physicians than needed, mostly in specialized medicine.
The state of Florida has added tens of millions of dollars to fund residencies in recent years and will add more in upcoming budgets.
